Pineapple Star block

The Pineapple Star block is a nine patch grid layout. There are a few different ways to make the star points such as templates and paper piecing. Recently I've learned of the Wrights®/EZ Tri-Recs Tools- Quilt Ruler which is actually 2 rulers. Finally you can cut rectangles diagonally and square them up to the desired size. To do the calculations, javascript must be enabled. While every effort is made to be sure of accuracy, I am unable to test every variation. Before you cut up large amounts of fabric, cut and sew a test block or two. If you find any errors, please email me at "jeanne@myquiltgenie.com".

Instructions

General Template Cutting instructions

  1. Be sure to print templates "Actual Size".
  2. Set margins to .5 inches especially for larger blocks.
  3. To print templates without pattern, select last 2 pages to print only.
  4. If you try to print the templates outside of the web page, it may be the wrong size.
  5. Templates are finished dimensions, so when cutting them out add 1/4 inch seam allowance to all sides.
  6. Pieces are intended to be cut from strips.
  7. The video will show all the steps from cutting out templates to sewing pieces together.
  8. I've found that it works best to sew scant 1/4 inch seams on this block which is roughly 1 thread width less than a 1/4 inch.
