Double Pinwheel

Double Pinwheel block

This Double Pinwheel block instruction calculator makes 2 alternating blocks and is set in a 2 by 2 square grid layout. By choosing 4 fabrics, light to dark, both blocks can be used in the same quilt. An alternate method using light and medium/dark only, will make 2 quilts with pinwheels that turn in different directions. Due to the method of sewing these block, the finished size has a ¼ inch remainder. You can square up the blocks to be a round number, just do so consistently on the same corner of the diagonal seam.

To do the calculations, javascript must be enabled. While every effort is made to be sure of accuracy, I am unable to test every variation. Before you cut up large amounts of fabric, cut and sew a test block or two. If you find any errors, please email me at "jeanne@myquiltgenie.com".
